LIAO Minsheng, Vice President of Hainan Tropical Ocean University

Dr. LIAO Minsheng was born in November, 1964, in Leshan, Sichuan province. He started his career in July, 1983 and joined the Communist Party of China in November, 1991. He is associate researcher and holder of PhD in Economics. Dr. Liao Minsheng was appointed as vice president and the member of Party Committee of Qiongzhou University in July, 2013. He is in charge of financial affairs, basic construction, logistics, state-owned assets, university-invested enterprises, medical and health care, and Wuzhishan campus (another campus of Qiongzhou University) and contact with affiliated middle school. Dr. Liao formerly worked as the secretary of Educational Administration Office in Leshan Normal University;the editor and journalist from Sichuan Daily;assistant director of CPC Zizhong County Committee Office;deputy director of Social Division and Political Division, Policy Research Center of CPC Sichuan provincial committee;deputy secretary of CPC Pengshan County Committee;deputy secretary of Party Committee and deputy director of Tourism Bureau of Meishan city;assistant managing director of Marketing Department of China Orient Asset Management Corporation;director of Policy Research Center and deputy secretary general of Sanya City;director of Bureau of Culture Radio Television Publication and Sports of Haikou City. Dr. Liao was elected as the member of Standing Committee of the fifth Sanya Municipal People's Congress and the sixth session of Sanya Political Consultative Committee.

Research Interest and Academic Achievements: Dr. Liao is engaged in industrial economy, tourism economy, regional economy, cultural industry and ideological and political education. He has been invited as visiting professor and master superviser by Hainan University since 2006. In 2008, he was awarded the honorary title of  "advanced individual" for developing culture industry by Ministry of Culture, China. Dr. Liao published more than 50 academic papers in newspapers and magazines, and published 8 acamedic monographs, compiled works and literary reports.
